Hello Dahlings

In case you haven't heard of me, I am Tallulah Bankhead. A star of the first magnitude of the stage and somewhat screen. Some of my proudest successes of the stage are "The Little Foxes", "The Skin of Our Teeth", and many many others, dahlings. I tend to live my life to the fullest, enjoying new things within reason. You see my father always warned me about men and booze but he never mentioned a word about women and cocaine. If you catch my drift, dahlings.
Currently I reside in the U.S. but I got my first REAL start as an actress on London's West End and I shall always hold a special place in my heart for dear London.
I was born in the year of *ahem* in Huntsville, Alabama. Born, Tallulah Brockman Bankhead. My mother died when I was two. My Father was a proud Democrat (as am I) who served for many years in the U.S. House of Representives. I also have a sister *erm* Eugenia.
Some of my favorite things are champagne, kentucky bourbon, wild parties, baseball, and above all, my dahlings, the stage because you see the stage is what I live for. I am nothing but a mere performer. That is what I do, that is what I live for.

Here are some facts so that you can know the REAL me, dahlings:

President Harry S. Truman once claimed that my 1952 autobiography was the best book he had read since coming to the White House.

I once owned a pet lion named Winston. I had to give him up unfortunately...awful thing really...he was such a dahling..

I was the first white woman to appear on the cover of 'Ebony' magazine. I'm very proud of this fact. And so was my deah, deah, deah friend Hattie McDaniel

Proud Member of the Algonquin roundtable.

I was sent to Catholic convent schools by my father in the hopes that she would learn to stay out of trouble. Those hopes were unrealized....poor Daddy. I do love him so but for some reason he's always perferred Eugenia.

I narrowly missed out on the part of Scarlett O'Hara in 'Gone With The Wind' . The part was MINE dahlings MINE until that Vivien girl came along. But I suppose I wasn't right for the role. I was a smidgen over the character's age you know? And I felt that I really KNEW Scarlett. Hell dahlings I AM Scarlett with a bit of bourbon, bisexuality, and wild parties tossed in. Anyway Vivien and I are good friends now so it doesn't matter. She was just lovely when she came on my radio program, "The Big Show".

The town of Tallulah, Louisiana, in the northeast part of the state was re-named for me after she spent the night there in the 1930s. And oh my dahlings...what a night...let me tell you!

I have been said to be the inspiration for the character of Cruella De Vil in Disney's One Hundred and One Dalmatians but I've heard that about dahling Kate Hepburn too. So who knows what that Disney fellow was thinking!

"She was infamous for not wearing underwear. According to Hume Cronyn, during the filming of Lifeboat (1944) the crew complained about her flashing them when she had to climb a ladder to go into the mock-up of a lifeboat. When their objections to Bankhead's exhibitionism reached director Alfred Hitchcock, he reportedly quipped that he didn't know if it was a matter for wardrobe or hairdressing."
^^ The only response I have to that deahs is that we were working under dreadful conditions (I got pnemonia afterwards) and that underwear was simply a waste of time.

I have had affairs with men and women. So dahlings if this shocks you well...stick around and see some more!

I was nominated for Broadway's 1961 Tony Award as Best Actress (Dramatic) for "Midgie Purvis." I was snubbed by the academy for "Lifeboat" and the Tony Awards didn't come around till after my days but let me tell you I was still kicking!

And I still am kicking dahlings so stick around and watch my fabulously witty and insane life unfold before your eyes. I am here to entertain you, and I won't let you down.

Disclaimer: Obviously I'm not actually Tallulah Bankhead. This is a RPG. I am not in anyway affiliated with her in any way outside of being an admiring fan.
